Events 2009
Oldham October ShootThe Oldham October shoot was very well attended, as can be seen from the concentration and dilligence evident on everyones faces. It would be excellent if this was a regular feature which would keep everyones skill levels up there where amongst the top scorers. The sport of shooting has long been in the shadows where the narrow-minded have relegated it. Shooting has no age barriers. Shooting has no disability barriers. Shooting is a very safe sport, contrary to popular misconception. It's time it came out of the shadows into the daylight where all other sports exist. Let's show them what we can do! 9th National Shooting DaySunday the 29th of March will see the 9th National Shooting Day begin with competions on the standard range and slightly later on the HFT range will begin its competition programme too. Please note, to be eligible for any competitions you must register by the deadline otherwise any scores you achieve will not be eligible. The chief scorer's decision is final and regulated by the NSRA rules. Competitors should dress appropriately for the weather at this time of year and to expect the worst, as it usually turns out that way. Tea and coffee will be available from an urn and snacks may also be available subject to the hungry masses. Toilet facilities are available but please bring a roll as insurance! The day will end with the distribution of awards gained during the day and a communal photograph, unless the weather disagrees. The shooting event will complete the events of the weekend which include a pool competition, and a netball competition. |
